1907 cuban league box score

Here’s one of those Cuban League box scores I was enthusing about.  This is from Diario de la Marina, January 21, 1907.

VB = “Veces at bat,” times at bat;
C = “Carreras,” runs scored;
BJ = “Buenas jugadas” (literally “good plays”),  putouts;
Dead balls = Hit batsmen.

(Btw, the Hall of Fame has an extensive English-to-Spanish and Spanish-to-English baseball dictionary online.)

I forgot another marvelous feature of these box scores: they break down extra base hits allowed by pitchers (González allowed 8 hits altogether—7 singles and one double—while Olave gave up 7 singles and a triple).  They also give you batters’ strikeouts, including who whiffed on three pitches.

Also, note the typo: Carlos Morán had 0 sacrifice hits, not 5.
