This blog has been silent for two whole years, largely because I have been very busy on other fronts, as you may have heard. In coming days I’ll be restarting the blog, as well as launching some additional projects. In the course of my research into Black and Latin American baseball I’ve accumulated great gobs of material and ideas, enough for more books than I will ever be able to write. I may not be able to complete everything, but I’d like to at least get some of this stuff down on paper or in pixels. More on this soon.
In the meantime, I have occasionally been elsewhere on the web, in the form of interviews, podcasts, Zoom events. I’m not any good at this, mind you, but here are links to a few, just to prove I haven’t been completely idle the past couple of years.

•Marc Carig of The Athletic wrote this very good article on the problems of Negro league statistics, one of the best treatments of the subject out there.
•This MLB.com article talks to Ron Teasley, the one (known) Negro leaguer that MLB’s recognition would add to the all-time major league roster. There’s also a bit of my personal history as a Negro leagues historian.
•This interview with the Indiana State Library blog focused on the importance of Indiana libraries, and libraries in general, in Negro league research.
