Patty Hankins recently sent me this incredible photograph showing the Cuban Giants, rocking some very cool plaid sweaters, on their way to a ballgame in Silver Lake, New York, in 1913.

She found it in a family photo album, and adds that the family summered at Silver Lake in those years, and often spent time in the nearby towns of Perry and Castile. She was wondering if I knew anything about the game that was presumably played after this photograph was taken.
I was able to find mention of a Cuban Giants doubleheader against the Perry town team scheduled to take place on August 7, 1913, during the 38th Annual Pioneer Picnic of the Wyoming Historical and Pioneer Association.

Evidently the Cuban Giants won both games, but I couldn’t find any further details.

Looking at the photo, the players are not really identifiable, though I wonder if the Cuban Giant walking in front might be player-manager Lem Williams, who at 5’11” and perhaps 180 to 200 pounds or so was a big man for the time—but of course I cannot say that for sure. Other members of the team included future Broadway and Hollywood star Jimmy Fuller and future Chicago American Giants ace Tom Johnson.
I wanted to post this here, with Patty’s permission, to see if anybody has any further information on these games—if so, email me, or let me know in the comments.
